Okay, I have this seriously messed up problem. You don't know?! Lucky soul. When I blush I instantly feel my face and ears heat up and kind of *prickle* with sweat and everyone comments on how red I am. Don't worry if you're a cute blusher. If you're an ugly blusher like me, then I guess you better run away.

I'm 14 years old, and I'm a girl. And for some reason, my face will get super duper red if like, someone asks me something, or I say something, or, pretty much anything. I have no earthly idea why. Is there any reason at all why this is happening? Its incredibly annoying because people will always be like 'You face is getting really red!' or 'Why is your face so red?' and its really annoying. It happens to me too. I'm naturally shy, but usually I'm not embarrassed at all when it happens. But, turning red makes me super self conscious and embarrassed. =(

Just thinking about it makes it happen, so it is sort of an endless cycle of sucky-ness.

Although, there is this condition called rosacea I believe, which you can get treated for. It could be possible that is what you have or it could just be a habit, like for me. =/ It sucks, but trying your best to not think about it will probably help. Try to focus on what people are saying, or find something that calms you down such as deep breathing.

The best blush I think is cover girl. They are soft and easy to put on. They have a bunch of colors. Always go kinda light. And they have a really pretty shimmer. And if you get them at drug stores they will let you take them back if you need to. Good Luck!

Honestly I think the best thing to do is go to a makeup shop (or one wear they sell makeup and have helpy people) and tell them you'd like a blush and which one is best.

i would just try to wear like a light colored face powder or foundation on my cheeks to cancel out the red blushing....it's just part of who you are but if it makes you uncomfortable there are ways to conceal it.

OMG this happens to me too. I totally know how you feel. Read this article, I try to follow some of the steps but I just can't get to the point where I just don't care about it anymore. Do a google search on how to stop blushing, you'll get so many sites, tips, and forums. Apparantly lots of people have this problem. Most of the ppl say that when they got to the point that they just didn't care, it happened less and less (I hope I can get to that point). Good luck :-)

It does seem that household pets experience embarassment, but you may only see indications of blushing though a slightly more pink nose.

I am fair skinned and confident, a professional, a college graduate, am social and have high self esteem (at least I think so). However, the last few months, I seem to blush very easily and my face and neck get all blotchy with red splotches and it looks gross against my pale white skin.

It happens when my boss approaches me to ask me a question, when someone calls on me in a meeting or small group, when I get into an elevator with a good looking guy, when I notice a guy is looking at me (I'm not even looking at him, I'm trying to be cool) but I blush anyway. Blush is the #1 make-up product that every girl needs!!!!!! It really warms up your face and adds color. You can still have a natural look with blush on, just choose a light shade of peach and apply only to the apples of your cheeks.

For when you want a more sophisticated look, go with two shades, and put the darkest one in your cheekbone hollows, lightest one on your apples and blend up towards the temple.
I absolutely love blush because it gives you just a subtle rosey flush that is desired. If you like your natural look, you can apply a small amount of blush on your cheeks. Just pick something that suits your skin color. Pinks for light skin, peaches and apricots for medium skin, and berry colors for darker skin.
If you like the look of no blush then go with that. Personally, I never wear blush, I just think I look better without it. If you aren't really sure maybe you could just use a bit of bronzer along your cheekbones, that's what I do if I feel like I need a bit of colour there. But no blush is fine!

You like him, and without wanting to, you show him that by blushing. He may have onother way of unawarely showing you how he likes you, perhaps his hands start sweating, when he sees you. Both of you are so concerned about their ';problem';, I think, he hasn't noticed your blushing. Don't worry about that, as time goes by, it will vanish.

Depending on the look I'm going for, sometimes I'll use a highlighter. It can give a great, glowy effect when applied properly. I'm a big fan of using the ';C'; shape to highlight around you eye and cheekbones. Here's a pic that demonstrates the effect I'm talking about:

NARS Orgasm blush and Albatross highlighter were used for that look. Highlighter can look bad if overused, though, so use a light hand. =D

Judging by your picture, you are already pretty and honestly don't need to wear too much makeup.

Using a highlight on your cheekbones is for the effect of looking ';fresh.'; Since the sun hits your face it enhances your cheekbones giving that effect. So I wouldn't recommend highlighting since prom will be at night rendering it pointless.

Definitely get fake lashes it really pulls a dramatic effect which will look great when taking pictures at prom.

It does happen to all people in life. It happens at times when we are doing something for the first time and it is uncomfortable for the inital time of doing it. But by you trying to run from it you aren't really experiecing it to get past the first time, you are making it go on. That is why later in life that we don't blush any more, the experiences are old hat to us and they are all normal. Just face up to the experiences. Personally, I think it's cute watching someone blush, they are so pure of heart yet and that is refreshing in itself.

Its a medical condition that there is a word for, but it escapes me and I am too lazy now to look it up.

There is medication you can take (and you may or may not grow out of it).

See your physician.
I would start with asking a doctor about it. There is that skin disorder call Rosacia and it has to do with reddening of the skin and there is medication for it.

This sounds like Rosacea to me as well. Besides just having red or blotchy skin, a person with this disorder will blush very easily over nothing at all. It is tough because we always look guilty even when we are not! Speak to your doctor soon because this condition will get worse as you get older. Changing your diet can help a lot as well. Cut out spicy foods, caffeine, sweets, etc. Sorry, you will not have a career as a professional poker player because your face will always give you away.

I just thought it was b/c I was embarrassed, but I looked at that website someone else put on and the symptoms include face turning red after drinking or hot bath and that happens to me too. You may have the skin condition known as rosacea (pronounced 'roe Zae shah'), as other postees have mentioned. (That still doesn't give the right of fellow students to bully the person.) Perhaps you can go to a (board-certified) dermatologist and find out what he or she thinks. You may or may not have that. Perhaps you are really shy and feel self-conscious.

no. I have worn foundation occasionally over the years, but I do wear blush. Only for real fancy occasions will I wear the whole thing. Just notice your natural undertones (I'm a cool/pink tone) so you don't fight it w/an opposite colored blush.Blush with no foundation??

not at all. i actually think its better that way. its less make up, so youll look better and much more radiant. if you don't know what color to choose, i recommend any peach tone...which is flattering to most, if not all skin tones:)
It depends on if your skin tone is even and complexion is clear. Foundation is not just used to smooth out the skin though, it's also used as protection against the elements. One of my clients came to me the other week and she was breaking out. She asked me why this was happening and after we went through different situations, we discovered that she had just started a new job working outside, and she wasn't protecting her skin. I tried foundation on her and told her to try that. Came back to me and discovered that was the problem. With foundation, it protects you so at the end of the day when you cleanse your face, it comes off along with the dirt from the day that has accumulated.

That said, you definitely can wear blush without foundation, but personally I prefere it. If you don't like foundation, a tinted moisturizer works too.

For the past 20 years, I've worn blush w/o foundation because I never needed it. Now that I'm in mid-30's, I find that I need to use foundation (I use bare minerals or Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer) because my complexion has become sallow and uneven. If I had worn foundation in the 80's, I probably would've ruin my skin with the cakey stuff they had in the market back then.

If your skin is in a great condition, all you really need to do is prep your skin with moisturizer or primer. In the past, I've used cheek tints (like LORAC and tarte) right on my cheeks for a natural flush. Tints can be tricky to apply, so cream blushes are great as well. And there is of course, powder blush.

I used to think it was 'weird' not to put on foundation because everyone else was doing it. But the bottom line is...if you are blessed with great skin, then you don't need it. If you have oily skin or a T-Zone, it's a good idea to apply a little bit of translucent powder to matte down the shininess.
if your skin is clear, then it'll be ok. the blush will look more natural on your skin. you'll look healthy and fresh with that blush, not like wearing a pile of make up. very nice actually.

if your skin is not clear, the blush will look like you just rubbed your cheek and get irritated.

Years ago, this happened to me, also. It was found to be the beginning signs of rosacea, which I now see a dermatologist to try to manage. Good luck.

oh god, i used to be the same. It did stop for me eventually (though on occasion it does happen still). People can be mean, they just dont get how embarrasing it can be.

Its easy to say but don't let it get to you. Just have faith that you are probably very awesome and that it will pass.

I actually think its very pretty (My friend blushes all the time and she looks lovely :) ) so look at it as a plus.

an ex of mine used to use the green foundation stuff under her make up to take the red away, just dont layer it on or you can look like frankenstein :D
Step one would be to accept it as a part of you. It might be that your skin is just more likely to blush because you have pale skin or something.

If you do not bother about it but accept that that's a cute little part of you you will handle it much easier.

There's not really any cure. I have the same exact problem. I guess the only thing to do is be more confident of urself and don't think too much about turning red. Some guys even think it's cute when u blush. ; ) Just take deep breaths and don't worry about it.
Well stop caring what everyone else thinks. Just worry about yourself and what makes you happy. I used to be the same way. I still do blush esp. if I have to get in front of the class or something, but you'll get over it eventually.
Well I had the same problem too, I would use Bare Minerals make up. It's very healthy and it hides your blush so no one can tell. I know people would say ';You'll get over it.'; but it is sometimes hard when it's out of your control. So try some cover up. But don't use any harse kinds, cuz somtimes that can make it worse.

Here we go again, i watched the dr. phil show last week i belive and this women spends like 1000 a month on name brand well they did a test to see if she knew the difference and she didnt. All it is, is the name, they all work the same this makeup artist said. The rich just buy it to be cool and have the name and spend all that money on something that cost really cheap and does the same thing in the same color. So its up to u what u want to spend but id go cheap cause it does not matter what in it, when it comes to powder unless you have a skin condition and need no fragance.
If you have sensitive skin or break out easily I would recommend Clinique! I've tried just about everything out there, from drugstore brands to department store and Clinique is great. I don't particularly like their lip and eye makeup compared to other makeup counters but their foundation, powder, and skin care line are amazing! If you visit a counter than they can advise you on which one works best with your skin and what color. And if you wait until they have a ';bonus time'; than you get a whole bunch of free products to try too. Most of my makeup kit is all freebies from doing this!

I could tell you from experience that your best bet would be Clinique or M.A.C. -both brands are expensive on a low buget/// well I use Clinique everyday and it works well with sensitive skin ... and then also -- a cheaper kind - one of my favorites is neutragina. It is also very light.. WHen I wear foundation / liquid - I don't like it to feel oily or wet just light .. But also powder works too..

Sorta yah. You would look much better with just a hint of blush to your cheeks. It makes your whole face brighter. No need for bronzer though. I mean who has a tan in the middle of winter? So just use blush. It makes all the difference.
Well i never used to wear bronzer over my foundation just powder but now i use foundation powder and bronzer it just puts a bit of colour in your face but it also depends what colour your face is. if it is pale or if it has a natural glow! :)

I've done it since I was little. I remember in preschool someone asked me why I wore so much blush. I was four at the time.

Whenever I have to present something, I get bright red. I get red even if I'm not doing a presentation. But, I'm rather pale, so I think that has something to do with it.

apply foundation on your face then apply a darker shade of foundation than your face foundation on the hollows of your cheeks(suck your cheeks in and apply the darker foundation there)
Bronzer will give the illusion of prominent cheekbones and it looks great on most everyone. You can get it at any make-up counter or drug store and it is available in liquid or powder.
Use a darker shade of foundation right under where you want your cheekbones to be.

Even if its talking to a girl that's a close friend, i go red, and i don't feel shy or anything, i talk normally. I can't talk in front of an audience without blushing, but that's to do with self confidence, which i lack of.

I don't know if this will help, but I have some thoughts on the subject. I used to blush more, and I don't so much, but sometimes it comes back. When I've noticed other people blushing though, I don't give it much thought at all. If anything I think it brightens up their face, gives them a glow, and says they're human, and maybe a bit shy. It also can make someone look more attractive (some women even put blush on their face to appear flushed!!!). Try to just smile when you blush, laugh it off, and take a few deep breaths (this always helped me), and accept that it is part of who you are. It just means that some of the blood is rushing to your face. What if our faces turned polka-dotted at times!!! That would be much worse!!! Since I've changed my attitude towards blushing, I don't really blush as much, cause I guess I don't have so much anxiety towards it. Hope that helps!!

I highly doubt anywhere will ship it to the UK, your best bet is to ask the women at the Lauder counter to call the warehouse or the discontinued hotline. Your best bet would be to go into a Mac counter and let one of the artists know that you are interested in purchasing some products but that you're not sure what colors are best suited for you. They will do your makeup for you and then you can choose the colors you want. Make sure that you let them know exactly what you are wanting. Do you want to look natural, have your eyes pop, want something for an evening look? Another little hint is that you can save a lot of money by purchasing a less expensive mascara that you like. You can find good brushes in other stores as well. Their brushes are outrageous!!! Yes, they work well but you can find other brushes that are just as good. The only brush that is a MUST have for me is their eyeliner brush. I usually buy the black shadow and use water to turn it into an eyeliner :o) The makeup IS a bit expensive but it lasts FOREVER! One shadow cost around $14-16 but will last me at least a year to a year and a half. Remember that with Mac products...a little goes a LONG WAY! Have fun :o)

If you have a Walmart that sells Jane products... they have a blush that is suppose to be EXTREMELY similar to Nars orgasm, except its matte and doesn't have any shimmer. You need to pick a good colour - one that is close to your natural colour when you blush or have been running.

If you are using a powder blush, apply with a blusher brush starting at the apples of your cheeks and working back towards the temples. Use a circular motion and make sure you blend in well, this should look natural - not stripy! With blush is easier to put more on than take off so go easy with the colour.

Otherwise you can use a cream blusher, these are easier to blend in with (clean!) fingers - in the same area.

You can also find cheek stains which are good for that rosy glow - they are very red but you need only a small amount. You need to work quickly before it dries and you will always need to clean it off your hands afterwards as it does stain. how: smile, and use the fan brush 2 lightly apply blush to the apples of ur cheeks by sweeping from ur cheeks to the outer edge of ur face where the fixed point of the jaw is.

well first of all you need to know your natural blush color..for eg...after a workout..or you could jsut lightly pinch your cheeks...then you need to get a similar shade..but whats imp is the brush ..specifically you need to get a blush brush if your using powder blush..but what i owuld honestly suggest since you want a natural color..go in for mousse (maybelline has wonderful colors in bronze and pink!) and apply to the apples of cheeks (smile n youll know) and the best part about mousse is that you can keep applying it till you achieve the right intensity! and it looks so natural n smooth!
just pick out any kind of blush (but make sure it matches ur skin tone) and sweep the brush across ur cheekbones (u can see ur cheek bones when u smile... if that helps) then sorta bring it all the way back to the edge of ur face and reapply as much as u want to add more color. but try not to put to much on or it will look clown-ish.

Is Almay Smart Shade Blush a good product?

I just got some. I think it looks weird. If you are used to using cream blushes, then maybe you would have better luck. But, I found it kind of annoying to put on. Also, it didn't go well with my skin tone, even though the foundation I bought works fine. The color was just very blah. No bronze tones, but kind of almost orange. It looked very ';make-upy,'; as in you could really tell I was wearing make-up.

The foundation doesn't give very good coverage. Like, if you have freckles or a pimple or something, it will not cover it. It said you can layer the product, but I felt like I was just wiping it off, not putting more on. I also don't like the idea of layering on make-up. Ew. Both the foundation and the blush left my skin feeling kind of sticky. I tried putting powder on, but I ended up super shiny by the end of the day, and I am not normally that way. I personally have not tried it, but looking at the fact that you have to choose a shade, it doesn't seem that smart. However there is a product very similar to it that I believe came out first called O-Glow (http://www.smashbox.com/index.cfm/fuseac鈥?/a> which uses a gogi berry complex which matches that ';rosy'; in your cheeck. It's only one ';shade,'; so no guess work like Almay, which you have to choose your ';tone'; (berry, neutral, or pink).

I just got a blush from M.A.C. called Sweet As Cocoa. It's absolutely gorgeous! I like M.A.C. because you can go and try on everything before you buy it, and on top of that, it's the first powder blush that I've tried that doesn't look ashy on me. I suggest using a bubble-gum pink powder blush with a big, fat brush, and brushing it just on the apples of your cheeks. If you can, avoid wearing foundation on your cheeks- this will help the blush stand out.

I personally don't like cream or gel blushes, I feel like they clog my pores.
I don't know your exact skin tone but I use Cover Girl blush in Refined Rose or Desert Rose.
Try a bronzer...I love Bobbi Brown Shimmer Blocks. She has various shades and it has a slight ';glow'; that makes it very natural. There is a pink compact that would look great on pale skin.

I never used to use blush before discovering this product and now, I am addicted to it. It brings out the natural ';BLUSH'; affect that you seem to be looking for. I use a big blush brush to apply on the apples of my cheeks (SMILE when doing so) and slightly on my nose and forehead. Makes you have that bronzed, beach tan that J.Lo is so famous for.

Find a Laura Mercier counter (such as at Macy's). They have a brown blush loose powder that really makes a nice blush for us lilly white girls...
Owww,...everyone keeps telling you to pinch yourself,...lol Personally, I waited until I went jogging to buy my blush, I jogged the quarter mile to the store (Rite-Aid, which I love because if you make a goof they refund makeup), by that time my cheeks were flushed and I already had a natural blush, so I merely placed the shades next to the apples of my cheeks in the mirrors they have located throughout the stores.

I apply my blush on the apples of my cheeks in a vertical line with my fingers (this lefts the face in a smile somewhat, and a clever anti aging trick as well), and then I blend with a fat soft brush to make it appear more antural. As always due apply transluciant powder over top to set it, ofcourse use the powder sparingly.

The only make-up that is excellent for acne skin is called Bare minerals. It's 100% natural minerals from the earth so it's like you have nothing on your face at all. They make beautiful colors for all skin colors. Revlon will not hurt you but it's not going to improve the acne. Trust me Bare minerals will improve your skin!

Blush Blotchy & or Patchy Problems (With Products)?

Okay, so i have tried a variety of types of blushes ranging from name brands to textures (compressed powder form, to mouse, to lipsticks lol etc) and they always end up blotchy on my skin, some even after application.

I wear Tru Blend by cover girl (whipped foundation).

My skin is normal (not greasy not dry), and i always clean it thoroughly as well as moisturize it (mostly on parts of my face that feel tight after washing eg nose %26amp; chin).

Is there a certain way of applying blushes? How can someone avoid patchy blush problems, what to avoid what you'd recommend.Blush Blotchy %26amp; or Patchy Problems (With Products)?
It sounds like you can use any blush. The key here is the tool you are using and how you are applying it and also to use barely any product! In order to avoid blotchiness, if you are using a powdered compressed blush:

1) DAB your brush into your blush just a couple of times.

2) Swipe the brush on any surface such as forearm/tissue, etc. to get rid of the intense colour

3) Now you may sweep the brush onto your cheek.

4) clean your brush from colour using tissue again

5) Now you may use the brush to blend the light cheek colour just slightly out towards your temples. The whole point here is to create a very light application.

~With any cream/liquid/mousse blushes, dab colour on your finger, apply 3 dots on cheek (hint-like in triangle connect the dots shape), and then blend blend in circular motion using your fingers or foundation brush, and then outwards on cheek bone toward ear-temple area. If you have trouble smearing, you may add more moisture to your skin, or use a shiny moisture cream such as MAC Strobe cream. I hope that was clear! Biotherm Sells A Good Line Of Blushes and Products. Also you should use A Large Brush. They work well and dont act Blotchy. If it still looks blotchy after this try Biotherm Liquid Foundation and then put on your Blush. That defiantly will not make it look blotchy!
I have the same problem. All I do is blend the blotchy parts with a tissue to make it even. It's tiring to do it everyday, but it's the only thing that works for me.
I use Bare Minerals angled face brush and any of their blushes. The brush is amazing! I got a deal where I got a make-up bag, blush and brush for 8 dollars at ULTA, but I think the brush is normally about 22.00! which is expensive, but I love it. I say search for a cheap price for the brush online. and use mineral make-up with it (probably doesnt matter what brand)

and after picking up the powder on the brush,

shake it back over the container, and press it into the lid.

this packs it perfectly to blend onto your cheeks!

make sure you smile while you apply it... it gets it onto the apples of your cheeks!

I am very fair (lightest shade of alot of foundations) with cool undertones, I bought this at ulta a few mos ago when they had a revlon sale. I think I bought it in ';petal';, a dusty pink color. I opened it up and was excited because it was close to the color of one of my more expensive blushes. I rubbed my finger in it to see how the color payoff was- nothing showed up. I did it again- no color, on a slightly shimmery finger. The brush is horrible and for me this stuff had literally NO color pay off. I returned it 2 days later.

First, let me start by addressing your dullness issue. I used to have dull skin, but I revamped my skincare routine, and it is gorgeous now. I wash with a soap free face wash, tone with witch hazel, and finish with Bare Minerals Skin Rev-er Upper and an oil-free moisturizer in the morning. At night, I use the Neutrogena Wave, witch hazel and Neutrogena Intensive Deep Wrinkle Night cream. My skin is very soft, my pores are clean and small, and my wrinkles are almost non-existent!

I also have very pale skin and use Bare Minerals makeup. I love it. It covers everything, creates the clear, dewy skin I want, and use all-over face colors to give myself the look of returning from a relaxing vacation! Warmth and Bare Radiance are my favorites. They bronze and add warmth and a healthy glow. (I only use one at a time though!) My skin doesn't break out anymore, and I always look fresh and glowing throughout my long day. (I work 10 hour days and have many other things to do before and after work.) A little bit of Mineral Veil freshens me up and absorbs oil to reduce shine during the day if I need it.

I have tried plenty of products and personally, my favorite has been the mineral products. I really like the Bare Minerals line, but it is quite pricey, so if you don't want to spend that much money, you can also try Maybelline Mineral Powder (They have liquid foundation that blends in great %26amp; also they have the powder). I too have pale skin and it used to be pretty dull. I have starting using philosophy microdelivery exfoliating cleanse to help with my skin tone. I use Bare Minerals makeup and it works wonders. After applying the powder foundation, I use Warmth (don't let the dark color scare you!) just use a dab and brush in the areas the sun would naturally hit you, then follow with the Mineral Veil. It really brightens the skin for a healthy glow.

I use the dream mousse foundation which works really well for me as i have dry skin i mix it work moisture and it looks and feels great. I have also tryed the blush but it felt a bit heavy on my cheeks maybe its just me and maybe because i put too much on.
Are you talking about the ones from Maybelline? If you are, I have the Dream Moouse Shadow, and it worked great! I have Ivory Illusion and Seude Sensation. It really gives my eyes golden shimmer. I have brown eyes, and they worked fantastic! You should definetely try them. But I don't know about the blush or bronzer. But they should work OK.
I've tried the foundation. It works well and it's light so it doesn't make you face feel all clogged up and disgusting.
They work well for me because I have slight acne and they blend well to my face. The eyeshadow is also nice.

I used to use one of Lancome's blushes as a bronzer but I can't remember the name of it! I want to say it's like Desert something but I could be wrong. How are Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends products (blush, bronzer, powder)?

I'm worried about the bronzer looking fake and the blush unnatural...I've fair to light combo skinHow are Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends products (blush, bronzer, powder)?
I have to say that I tried their powder and was dissapointed. It seemed a bit dry and just sat on my skin.
